Many adults are returning to the piano as a way of relaxing after a busy day. Playing a piece of Chopin or a pop song you love can slow the heart rate, eliminate stress and give great personal pleasure.
Children love playing the piano because of the wide range of pieces and styles available and also the many tone colours it produces. There is great opportunity for improvisation and composing on the piano as well as a huge classical repertoire to master. Learning the piano can also enhance skills in mathematics, memory, concentration, resilience and creativity.  Piano skills are also a great asset to your child’s formal music education (keyboard skills are studied at KS3 and a necessity at GCSE). Our teachers will advise on what type of instrument is best for your needs if you need to purchase one.
Sussex Music School teachers bring out the creative side of their students and will design a study programme based on each individual pupil’s needs – there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach or ‘method’. Practise books and concert opportunities for those who want them, will be provided.
