Irma started playing piano at the age of 3 and by the age of 7 gave her first public performance in her hometown, Sarajevo, where she went on to complete the Secondary music academy with distinction. 

 

​After moving to the UK, Irma completed her music degree and postgraduate diploma in performance taking part in many masterclasses with renowned pianists and teachers including Christian Blackshaw, Penelope Roskell, Carola Grindea and Nadia Lasserson. Irma won first prizes in both Kingston and Ealing music festivals. She also won 1st prize in a piano concerto competition -The Victor Hoddy Memorial Prize while a postgraduate performance student at the London College of music.  

 

​In recent years Irma has dedicated her time to passing her passion for piano and music performance to her students and enjoys watching them progress, with those that wish to taking graded exams. She is also an accomplished piano accompanist, having performed in chamber music settings and accompanied performance exams for singers and various instrumentalists. 

Despite being trained as a classical concert pianist, Irma enjoys exploring wider repertoire and styles of music with her students including Jazz and Blues, Pop, Rock and improvisation.
