GUITAR AND UKULELE TEACHERS - EASTBOURNE,  BEXHILL AND SEAFORD SCHOOLS

We are looking for a guitar teacher to join our team in  Eastbourne, Bexhill and Seaford from September 2023.

The suitable candidate would have experience of teaching young children and be a fluent sight-reader and reader of standard notation.

They need to all or some of the of the following to be considered for this role:

  • Qualified teacher status, grade 8 guitar, grade 5 theory, Music degree, other instrumental teaching qualifications

  • teaching experience (primary age)

Sussex Music School offers instrumental teacher's great rates of pay (£34 an hour)  The teacher will live locally and visit 3 or more schools.

SMS came into being from the desire to bring a fresh approach to local music education. We offer you training and CPD, concerts for your pupils to perform and meet others, a community of other teachers to learn from, cover etc, mentoring if you are a young, less experienced teacher, leadership opportunities if you are more experienced.

We do all the invoicing and take payments so you can focus on the teaching you love.

SMS teachers are self-employed and responsible for their own tax. You will need an enhanced DBS and public liability insurance (obtainable from your musician's union).

Ability to drive and owning a car is an advantage.

Sussex Music School is looking for a creative, qualified, self-employed music specialist (QTS preferred) to teach curriculum music lessons in Primary Schools  Experience and excellent classroom management essential. You will be assisted by a member of the school staff in all lessons.

In return you will join a dynamic community of freelance musicians and music teachers with a shared aim of creating a high quality musical experiences for students of all backgrounds and abilities. Ongoing training and support given, as well as the opportunity to use our pooled planning resources and share your strengths and expertise with us. Sussex Music School is run by experts and has excellent rates of pay.

COVER - CURRICULUM  MUSIC SPECIALIST - PRIMARY

Sussex Music School is looking for a creative, qualified, self-employed music specialist (QTS preferred) to teach curriculum music lessons to provide cover for teachers in B&H, east and west Sussex at short notice – must be a driver with car. 

Experience and excellent classroom management essential. You will be assisted by a member of the school staff in all lessons.

Ongoing training and support given, as well as the opportunity to use our pooled planning resources and share your strengths and expertise with us. INSTRUMENTAL TEACHERS  - ALL INSTRUMENTS

Sussex Music School is looking for creative, qualified, self-employed musicians to teach private pupils of all ages and abilities across Sussex.  There may also be scope for some in- school teaching, subject to demand.

In return you will join a dynamic community of freelance musicians and music teachers with a shared aim of creating a high quality musical experiences for students of all backgrounds and abilities.


Ongoing training and support is given, as well as the opportunity to use our pooled planning resources and share your strengths and expertise with us. Sussex Music School is run by experts and has excellent rates of pay.
