I am a professional musician and teacher with a wealth of Solo, ensemble and orchestral experience playing Internationally and enhanced by my Music College education from Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
I have enjoyed an exciting musical career from an early age, playing and teaching all over Europe, New York and Boston. For the past 5 years i have focused on teaching and performing in some of the Balkan counties, concentrating on teaching those who perhaps would never have had the opportunity to learn regardless of their background and overcoming complicated language barriers. This has helped me to develop an approachable, friendly and adaptable style of teaching even in the most challenge circumstances.
I have over 16 years’ experience in teaching Piano, Violin, Music Theory and Singing to students of all levels and ages.
I enjoy playing all genres of music and am registered to facilitate the taking of ABRSM exams if desired. I encourage students that wish to take these exams to pick their own repertoire from the grade guidelines/syllabuses and have found that this has helped them to achieve only Merits and above which I am very proud of through their sheer enjoyment of the teaching and exam preparation process.
During my lessons I aim to create a warm encouraging learning environment where there is always a clear, open communication and a great balance between the focused pursuit of musical goals and having lots of fun!
I enjoy teaching beginners of all ages as I believe a confident and great start to an instrument is the key to continued growth and enjoyment. I do also take great pleasure in teaching advanced students and find it so rewarding when they achieve their goals, knowing I have encouraged them to be the best they can be.

What parents say about Tessa

"Thanks so much for all your teaching this year. H really enjoys learning the piano and we are trying to carve out the time to practice more as we both enjoy doing so. Hugo received his formal diagnosis of Autism recently, he feels so positive about his playing which is so important for him as he doesn't always feel this way about other subjects at school. It gives him confidence as well as pleasure which I have no doubt is, in no small part, the way you teach him. Thank you very much from us both and we look forward to more learning this week and next term. "
