New Teacher Spotlight - Welcome to Nicola and Ann.

We pride ourselves on employing on the best teachers and so we are delighted to be welcoming Nicola and Ann to the team. These amazing instrumentalist and teachers will be working in Partner Schools in Brighton and Hove, Crawley and across Sussex to bring their unique, engaging and effective teaching styles to children from years 1 to year 10.
NICOLA

Instrumental Teacher - Piano, Singing and Violin
Brighton and Hove and Surrounding Areas
Nicola studied violin performance in Scotland at the RSAMD. She gained endorsements in String Teaching and Applied Community Music. Nicola is a fully qualified classroom teacher, teaching KS3-5 on the Wirral for 2 years. Her performance career started with an appointment with La Orquestra del'Academia del Gran Teatre de Liceu in Barcelona, where she played for 2 years. Since returning to the UK, Nicola combines a busy performance career with teaching in Brighton where she teaches violin and viola for Create Music and tutors the BESYO strings. She performs with orchestras including the RPO, RPCO, London Concert Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra and the RSNO in Glasgow. She records regularly for film, games and TV recently the featured violinist in BBC Ten Pound Poms, ITV The Winter King and Sky's Discovery of Witches. She has recently become a tutor with the Benedetti Foundation bringing inclusive, aspirational and inspirational residency ensemble sessions for up to 500 young people at a time. Nicola loves seeing pupils achieve their musical potential, and to develop a lifelong love and appreciation of music. Outside of work, Nicola loves baking, running and improving her Spanish.
Ann
Masters of Music Education; BSc in Music Education
Piano and Flute Teacher
Crawley Area and Across Sussex
Ann is a professional flute, piano and general music educator with over 15 years experience teaching both in the US and UK. She has performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and has taught music at all levels from young children through adult at various institutions to include the Interlochen Center for the Arts and Elizabethtown College (US university) where she led ensemble and orchestral flute sections, collaborating alongside a Grammy award winning woodwind coach.
Ann believes that any student can achieve given the right supportive environment, therefore she ensures each lesson is tailored to help achieve their utmost potential. Ann also has experience teaching students with neurodiversity. She has been commended by several parents for her very calm, supportive and and patient approach. In her spare time, Ann enjoys spending time with her daughter, a budding visual artist and extended family in the the US.
