We are absolutely delighted to announce that Sussex Music School has been awarded National Lottery Arts Council funding to deliver an inspiring Gamelan project for schools this July 2026!
The event takes place at Varndean School and is open to all schools in Sussex for children from years 5-10. We can fully fund these sessions now and even offer a contribution of £80.00 for transport (paid directly to the provider). If you are already an SMS Partner or THRIVE School and wish to apply for greater transport funding, please email us explaining how much and why and we will do all we can to help.
This generous support opens up incredible opportunities for young people across Sussex to experience something truly special.
Being able to make this project free of charge and to be able help support schools with transport has only been made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery through Arts Council England and many thanks to Beth, SMS Senior Leader, Curriculum and Outreach who did such an amazing job applying.
We are incredibly grateful for this support and proud to be part of a wider movement that values creativity in education.
