Classic FM Music Teacher of the Year Awards 2026 - Congratulations to Robbie

We are delighted to announce that our amazing teacher Robbie has been nominated by pupils at St Andrews CofE Primary School in Hove for the Classic FM Music Teacher of the Year Awards 2026. The children worked so hard to each write letters of praise for Robbie who teaches Y 5 & 6 Curriculum Music.

Robbie also runs the Samba Band, who recently performed at the Children's Parade at part of the Brighton Festival, and also the Orchestra.

The orchestra has over 30 members (staff and children) and he dedicates a lot of time creating bespoke orchestral arrangements of pieces to make them accessible to every single player.

A well deserved nomination whatever the result. Well done Robbie and thanks to those lovely pupils and teacher at St Andrews for taking the time to do this.

SMS has been working with St Andrews for many years and our teachers form an integral part of their team and their devotion to ensuring Music is part of the fabric of the school and not just an add on is a real testament to them.
