Musical Theatre Summer School 2026 - Meet the Team

Last week our Senior Leaders and Workshop team met in Eastbourne to begin the exciting process of planning two weeks of Musical Theatre workshops at Cradle Hill Primary School and Heron Park Primary Academy during July and August.

 



Meet the team for each school below (from left to right Sam, Emma, Gavin, Zoe and Beth):


Gavin - Workshop Leader - Singing, Choreography and Drama - Cradle Hill and Heron Park


As well as being a full-time music teacher, Gavin also provides musical direction for theatre schools in East Sussex and the north of England. He's had his work recorded as part of Bite Sized Broadway and is a published children's author.


Emma - Workshop Support - Singing, Choreography and Drama - Cradle Hill


A fully qualified, expert teacher working in schools across Sussex teaching curriculum music, drums and percussion. After completing her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2013, Emma joined the West End/Broadway smash hit show STOMP in 2014 and toured extensively throughout Europe, Asia, Australia and South America.


Zoe - Workshop Support - Singing, Choreography and Drama - Heron Park

Videographer and Photographer across both sites.


Zoe is a versatile musician, composer, dedicated educator and performer. She teaches piano, violin, singing, and songwriting across Sussex for SMS in Primary and Secondary settings. A recent graduate of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, she is an experienced teacher with a deep passion for making music accessible to all.


Sam - SLT - Workshop Safeguarding and Supervision - Heron Park


Samis Senior Leader for Instrumental Learning & Partnerships at Sussex Music School. A fully qualified music teacher with extensive experience across curriculum and instrumental music, he is passionate about developing high-quality, inclusive instrumental learning and offering performance opportunities to all children.


Beth - SLT - Workshop Safeguarding and Supervision - Cradle Hill


Beth studied BA (Hons) Music at Bath Spa University with a specialism in solo clarinet performance, ensemble performance and composition.  She then gained a PGCE in Music at the University of Sussex and began her career teaching Secondary Music. 

Beth went on to explore Primary Music teaching and has been a Primary Music Specialist for 15 years working with children from EYFS to KS2 with a diverse range of needs and backgrounds.

We have a few spaces left on both weeks and are very excited to be offering 20 free places for children on pupil premium HAF places on week 2 at Heron Park.

 

Our team will deliver a fun and creative musical theatre programme. Children and young people will take part in musical games and learn a range of musical theatre songs in an enjoyable and supportive environment, culminating in a performance on the final day for parents and carers.
