Sophia is a Brighton-based violinist and conductor with a background in chamber music, orchestral leadership and curriculum teaching. She has worked across professional and educational settings as a performer, director and music educator, designing and delivering curriculum-based programmes that combine technical rigour with creative musical thinking.

Her work brings together the precision of orchestral playing with the responsiveness of chamber music. She is particularly interested in rehearsal craft — how musicians communicate, listen and shape sound together — and in creating environments where players can work with clarity, confidence and purpose.

 

Alongside her professional work, she enjoys gardening, playing cricket, running,going to gigs and theatre with her daughter, and eating the food prepared by her chef son.
