Praise for Our First Music Theatre Summer School Success
We were so grateful to receive the email below from a parent whose child attended our first Music Theatre Summer School in the Seaford area.
It really was a fun, busy, and joyful week of singing, acting, dancing, and working together creatively; so, it was lovely to get such a wonderful message of encouragement, showing that children and parents enjoyed it as much as we all did!
“I just wanted to say thank you so much for the wonderful theatre workshop. My daughter really enjoyed it and what the children achieved in 4 days was phenomenal. It brought me to tears.”
Those words captured exactly what we hoped the summer school would become. Not just a workshop or a few days of activities, but instead a place where children could grow in confidence, try something new, make friends, and surprise themselves.
Sessions were carefully planned by Gavin and Emma (both who have a wealth of experience in Musical Theatre). They chose activities that would build skills while keeping the week fun and welcoming. We wanted every child to feel involved, whether they arrived with stage experience or were stepping into a theatre workshop for the very first time.
Across the week, the group worked on core music theatre skills, including:
Singing with confidence and expression
Acting through character, movement and voice
Learning choreography and stage positions
Listening and responding as an ensemble
Building performance focus
Supporting one another through rehearsals
The children took on developing these skills with such ease, determination, and the confidence to inject the spark of their own personalities into their work. The result of the week was growth, connections with others, and a final sharing that let the children's families see the journey they had been on.

The success of our first Music Theatre Summer School has left us excited for what comes next.
We will take everything we learned from this first experience and carry it forward with the hope we can bring more Musical Theatre in an accessible and enjoyable way across Sussex.
