Free Loan of Instruments for Schools
Updated: 5 days ago
SMS is committed to bringing a wide range of instruments to all children who wish to learn in schools, but we understand budgetary restraints on some instruments.
This is why we launched Free Loan Instruments for Schools to enable your school to apply for a free loan of a digital piano or drum kit, from us for use by one of our teachers, enabling you to add a wider range of teaching to your instrumental offering.
Current Recipients:
When West Hove Infants and Hove Juniors asked to add Piano to our offering (rather than keyboard) we were delighted to help the school by supplying them with 2 Digital Pianos which are now used by over 80 pupils across two sites.
Woodingdean Primary School and City Academy Whitehawk both responded to our call for schools who wanted to add Drums to their musical offering. Lessons will be in place at both schools from November 2026 and there's been an excellent response from parents. In the case of CAW this adds to an already very successful, fully funded Clarinet Project with Charlotte and provision on a wide range of instruments, many of which are pupil premium funded.
We are currently encouraging applications for free loans of Digital Pianos in the Eastbourne Area so if your school is interested in applying, please get in touch
We are always happy to help schools add instruments to their offering where we can and where demand is there whether by supplying loaned instruments or match funding for classroom instruments such as Ukuleles. We at SMS believe music should be inclusive and accessible to all chidlren and we are able to use our experience and not for profit status to support you to make that happens for your school.
