Behaviour Management Policy – Summer School & Out-of-School Settings. 

 

1. Purpose 

This policy covers behaviour expectations and procedures for all music activities delivered outside school settings, including summer schools. 

2. Core Principles 

- Person-centred, relational approach 

- Clear expectations for safety and participation 

- Non-punitive but with related consequences 

- Safety and learning prioritised at all times 

3. Expectations 

Children are expected to show respect, follow instructions, participate positively, and use all instruments safely. Expectations are re-iterated at the start of each session. 

4. Behaviour Approach 

- Curiosity-led discussions 

- Regulation support (movement breaks, sensory adjustments) 

- Restorative conversations 

- Related consequences tailored to the situation 

 

5. Persistent or Unsafe Behaviour 

If behaviour continues to disrupt learning or compromise safety, we may contact parents and require immediate collection. No refunds will be given. 

 

6. SEND Information 

Parents must inform us of any SEND or SEMH needs so we can plan effectively and ensure appropriate support.
