"I am deeply passionate about spreading the joy and power of music to all my pupils. I aim to inspire and nurture pupils’ natural curiosity.

I began learning the Cello with the South Berkshire music centre, which led to me studying a BA in Music at Southampton university and then moving onto teaching music, completing my secondary Music PGCE at Sussex University.
Over the last 20 years I have been teaching Cello lessons and curriculum music lessons in a range of secondary, primary and nursery schools, within Brighton and Hove, Sussex, and Surrey. I have extensive experience directing a variety of extracurricular groups and workshops, from choirs to string ensembles. I encourage all pupils to participate in performances and I have been lucky to lead school ensemble performances to Glyndebourne and The Brighton centre.
During Cello lessons I work with the interests of each individual pupil and tailor my teaching to suit their learning style and motivations.
I gain immense joy teaching whole class curriculum music lessons across EYFS, KS1 and KS2. I love teaching whole class performances where all pupils embrace the satisfaction of playing together.

" love working for SMS, it is like a breath of fresh air.
I feel fully supported by all staff and all members of SLT, who are amazing and always there to help with any aspect of my teaching. After many years of teaching in a range of sometimes restrictive workplaces, I feel like I am free to be the creative teacher I have always wanted to be.
The staff meetings and inset training are brilliant and fully relevant to every aspect of my current roles. I learn a huge amount from all the training given to me and I feel very lucky to work for an incredible organisation that really cares about enhancing Music education for every child."

I enjoy walking, swimming, and practicing yoga.
