Free Trial Curriculum Lessons
For Term 3 of 2024/25 we are offering a free trial curriculum lesson to all schools to show you what we can bring to your school to help you meet the requirements of the National Plan for Music Education.

Music is the beating heart of school life. The choir includes everybody and inspires all. Everyone gets to learn musical instruments. Disadvantaged pupils are well represented in every opportunity, including the impressive school orchestra.
Sussex Music School provide National Curriculum lessons in schools. Lessons are well structured for progression but allow space and time for creativity. ​

By becoming a partner school there are so many opportunities open to you and your staff to aid in bringing an effective music provision to reach all pupils.
All children will learn:

Listening skills including to great musicians and composers
Children learn effectively through playing classroom percussion, their own instrument where they learn one outside the classroom and the use of ICT.

Sessions in Primary schools last ½ hour (KS1) or 45-60 minutes (KS2). A typical secondary lesson lasts 1 hour.

Lessons cover the National Curriculum requirements. In primary schools, a teaching assistant is expected to be present throughout to aid the visiting teacher as necessary.​​
