Paul  started playing the guitar at the age of ten receiving lessons from Philip Woodfield and Chris Susans. Paul gained an ABRSM Grade 8 with distinction and won the Burton Music Festival 1st prize in 1989. 
In 1990 Paul was personally invited to complete his studies with a four year performance diploma course by internationally renowned guitar maestro and pedagogue Gilbert Biberian (one time student of the great Ida Presti) at Trinity College of Music in London. At the college, Paul took part in master classes with many renowned guitarists including Alirio Diaz (one time student of Segovia), John Williams, Ricardo Iznaola, Paul Galbraith, Jonathan Leathwood and The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. Paul also studied in the same guitar class as distinguished artists Clive Carroll, David Merrin and Alison Smith. After completing his studies Paul was awarded a DipTCL and won the Gertrude Norman Prize for an outstanding performance in his final recital exam.  
Since leaving Trinity College, Paul has performed many public concerts throughout the UK and has given private recitals for many prestigious clients including, Soloman Brothers Merchant Bank, The Wallace Collection, Champeneys the London Club, the Covent Garden Festival and was invited to play at The Cafe Royale (London). Paul has performed the Five Preludes by Villa-Lobos on Polish national television and played the Guitar Quartet Op.18 by Francois Da Fossa recorded at the ambassador’s concert and broadcast on Kazakhstan state radio.
