Drum Teacher – covering Crawley and surrounding areas

One-2-one in Schools and Privately

January 2022

Do you want to transform your practice by working for a not- for- profit organisation dedicated to valuing our teachers in order to obtain the best possible outcomes for the children and adults we teach?

Sussex Music School offers instrumental teachers great rates of pay (up to £30 an hour) and is currently looking for a high-quality drum kit teacher for pupils in Crawley and surrounds. Initially this will be covered within one day, with the opportunity to expand.

The teacher will live locally (or within travelling distance) and visit the all-through school (age 4-16) in Crawley once a week during the school day. The schools has a successful and busy music department, lots of enthusiastic pupils, and friendly staff. You will become part of the thriving SMS team at the school, which is an exciting and inspiring place to work.

SMS came into being from the desire to bring a fresh approach to local music education. We offer you training and CPD, concerts for your pupils to perform and meet others, a community of other teachers to learn from, cover etc, mentoring if you are a young, less experienced teacher, leadership opportunities if you are more experienced.

We do all the invoicing and take payments so you can focus on the teaching you love.

Valuing our teachers is paramount as this will translate into the best musical experiences for our students. If you know that you can give learners of all ages confidence, enhanced communication skills and well-being through the timeless activity of making music and you are a talented and dedicated music teacher with a sound knowledge of music theory and notation and a wide range of styles, then please enquire today about teaching with SMS!

SMS teachers are self-employed and responsible for their own tax. You will need an enhanced DBS and public liability insurance (obtainable from your musician's union).

Apply with CV and covering letter.
